Hello All! My name is Donnie and I am an amateur photographer. I was
born in Virginia but moved to Leesburg, Florida when I was about 5. I've
lived there all my life until I joined the Navy. While in the military, I was
stationed far far away from my home in Jacksonville, Florida. ;) I have seen
the world in the 4 years I've lived here. I've been to Portugal, Crete,
Croatia, Bahrain, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, China, England,
New York, California, New Mexico, and Nevada. Of course, the last few were
stateside but I would probably have never gone if it weren't for the Navy.
My Passion for Drifting
Since being stationed here in Jacksonville I have experienced a lot of new things. The one thing that has
caught my attention the most is cars-specifically Japanese cars with many modifications to perform at their
peak. While using those cars, I've found a passion for drifting-a sport in which it's the point to lose control,
but maintain a race line, with as much speed and angle as possible. It's a smaller sport at the moment, but
it's really picking up it's momentum with many organized events coming to smaller areas and even two
major sponsored series. While I am not the caliber of driver to be in the professional series, I still aspire to
be better than the average person.
How Did I Get Here?
The sport of drifting did lead me to enjoying photography, which is
why you are here. I spent many events, and even more personal
experiences using the standard point-and-shoot cameras. One day I
decided to pick up a Canon Rebel XTi™ and that lead me to where I
am now. I am definitely an amateur in the field, but I want to get
better, and learn new things.
What's the Purpose?
With this site, I mainly want to post up as many pictures as possible, mostly unedited to watch my own
progression, as well as share with everyone else. I could have used a major photo hosting site, but I
wanted a place to call my own. I'm sure that I won't be producing professional photography from the start,
but I think I can progress. I definitely encourage your inputs and comments, so don't be shy.
